About Manchester

Manchester is perhaps most renowned as being the world’s first industrialised city. Sport in Manchester

It is remarkable to consider sporting connections of the city, hosting two of the biggest football clubs in the world. Manchester United are the most successful English team of the past two decades, giving birth to David Beckham amongst others. Their arch rivals, Manchester City, after a recent takeover, have become the richest club in football. The city also saw the influx of the world’s athletes in 2002, hosting the Commonwealth games.

Manchester Nightlife

Manchester is often acclaimed for its culture and nightlife. The Manchester scene became infamous in the 80’s with the production of bands such as the The Happy Mondays, The Stone Roses and later, Oasis. This, along with, the Acid-House explosion of the early 90’s, cemented the affiliation between Manchester and raving. This prevalent nightlife still sees over 500 licensed premises, making the city one of the UK’s premier destinations for an evening on the tiles.
